Advance Transit provides local bus transit service to Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, the Upper Valley Towns of Hanover and Lebanon, New Hampshire and Wilder and Norwich Vermont.  Ridership on the system has grown steadily through the past decade prompting the need to look at the design of bus stops serving the system.   The focus of these studies was on specific streetscape improvements that could be made to improve the bus stop waiting environment including accessibility considerations as well as the configuration of the bus stop, benches, shelters, signage and other amenities.  The planning helped to raise the consciousness of the needs of pedestrians and transit users in this growing system.
