Hampton Beach State Park Wins New Hampshire AIA Award

November 27, 2012 The Hampton Beach State Park redevelopment project was awarded a merit award by the New Hampshire AIA. The project involved the complete renovation of the visitor facilities at this popular beach. The buildings were designed by Samyn D’elia Architects of Ashland, New Hampshire.

King Arthur Flour Wins Vermont AIA Award

November 9, 2012 King Arthur Flour was awarded a Design Excellent Merit Award for 2012 by the Vermont AIA. In their comments on the project, the jury highlighted the important contribution of the landscape to the overall excellence of the design. The building was designed by Truex Cullins Architects of Burlington, Vermont.

Riverfront Island Master Plan named Plan of the Year

September 27, 2012 The Riverfront Island Master Plan prepared for Lewiston, Maine was named the 2012 Plan of the Year by the Northern New England Chapter of the American Planners Association (NNECAPA). ORW served as the team landscape architect under the direction of Master Planners Goody Clancy Associates of Boston.

ORW Finalist in Washington Monument Design Competition

October 4, 2011.  ORW has collaborated with architect and Dartmouth Professor Karolina Kawiaka on a design for the Washington Monument Grounds.  The design, The People's Forum, is one of six finalists for the privately funded 'National Ideas Competition for the Washington Monument Grounds.'  The six finalists were chosen from hundreds of entries from an international field and will be displayed at the National Building Museum in Washington DC and at the Virginia Center for Architecture in Richmond.  To see the six finalists designs, go the the wamo competiton website.

Barre 'Merchants Row' Plan of the Year

September 9, 2011.  The Merchants Row Master Plan, prepared by ORW for the City of Barre was named 'Plan of the Year' by the Vermont Planners Association.  The Master Plan reconfigures downtown parking to accommodate sidewalks, the Barre bike path, public space and landscaping.
