Groton Village Revitalization Plan, Groton Vermont
ORW provided the site and landscape design for the renovation of a cluster of historic buildings in the village center of Groton, Vermont. The dilapidated buildings were renovated for 19 affordable apartments, shops and a library. Most of the parking for this project was relocated to the rear allowing for greater space to be allocated to public space, landscape and walkways. ADA accessible walkways were a challenging aspect of the project, but were attractively integrated into the design. This project was awarded a Merit Award from Smart Growth Vermont (2006).
